The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950) who was the first Home minister of independent India and the chief adherent of Mahatma Gandhi during the non-violent Indian Independence movement. Located in Gujarat’s Narmada district, the world’s tallest statue (about 600 feet), is just 3.5 km away from Kevadia town and about 420 km from Mumbai. To get the best view of the picturesque environs of the Statue of Unity, you will have to go to the observation deck at a height of about 400 feet close to the chest of the Sardar Patel statue using high-speed elevators.
