Description of the Experience

Rajmachi is a small village, strategically located on the mountains of Sahayadri in Maharastra, India; from where both Lonavala and Khandala are close by. It is 17 Kms. trekking distance from Lonavala; Rajmachi peak having two fortified structures- the Shrivardhan Fort and Manoranjan Fort, both, declared at protected structures. It can be reached by two ways, the difficult being the Kondivode route, compared to the simpler Lonavala route. Rajmachi and Kondane Caves Trek will take you through the forests, wherein you will get to see and experience the beauty of nature.

The Kondane cave group has 16 Buddhist caves, located in the small village of Kondane; 33 km north of Lonavala and 16 km Northeast of Karla caves; were excavated in first century B.C.

  • Day 1 - Lonavala to Rajmachi
  • 6:10 PM- Assemble at Lonavala Railway Station and start your journey towards Jambhul pada by Shared Jeep
  • 7:00 PM- Reach Jambulpada. Start your jungle Trek to Rajmachi
  • 9:00 PM- Reach base village
  • 9:30 PM- Dinner
  • 10:00 PM- Trail in the forest to see fireflies
  • Around 11.00 PM- Retreat to your tents

    Day 2
  • 6:00 AM- Wake up and enjoy the sunrise.
  • 6:30 AM- Breakfast
  • 8:30 AM- Visit and explore the Shrivardhan Fort
  • 12:00 PM- Head back to Lonavala.
  • 1:30 PM - Get to the railway station in Lonavala and catch a train back with plenty of memories.

Note

  • This tour is available only on Friday and Saturdays
  • Smoking and drinking during the trip is strictly prohibited
  • Short pants till knee length allowed
  • Sleeveless/cut sleeves, low neck, figure-hugging shirts/tops are not allowed for the trek.
  • Travel cost from Kondane village to Karjat railway station and Lonavala to Rajmachi railway station is included in the package.
