Description of the Experience

Head start your journey to the ancient city of Sigiriya. Get amazed at the huge toadstoolshaped, gold-colored granite stone and wonder about the life during ancient times.Stroll through lush green gardens and pave your way up to the Lion's gate which depicts a lion's paw carved into the rock and a stairway to the top of the fort. Witness colorful murals which gives an insight into the life of the ancient people and this wonderful land. Take a pit-stop at a restaurant and grab something to eat. Post lunch, enjoy a village experience with a bullock cart ride, cooking class and fishing boat ride on the lake .Take some awesome pictures and get yourself dropped back at your hotel.

  • 9:30am arrive at Sigiriya
  • Walk from the Sigiriya main entrance to the rock to pass by water gardens, including curved tanks, bathing pools, little islands with pavilions and more
  • You can climb 1200 steps to reach at the top
  • View the incredible gallery of female figures in the halfway mark
  • 12:30pm proceed to Hiriwadunna village and break for traditional lunch with villagers
  • 4:00pm make your way back towards Colombo
  • 8:00pm approx. drop off at your respective hotel

  • Child ticket: Age 4-11
  • Children aged 0-3 can join the tour for free provided they do not occupy an additional seat
