Start off with a pick up from your hotel and head down the coast to Galle Fort which stands tall above the simmering sea. Get an insight as to how the fort was constructed by the Portuguese, conquered by the Dutch, and finally how it got reconstructed by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. Explore through the ruins of the colonial era and know how the area got transformed into a symbol of Sri Lanka's complex architectural history. Take a stop at the town of Ambalangoda and explore a factory specializing in creating traditional face coverings. Watch the creative craftsmen at work carving and dyeing these fabulous masks. Also learn their significant role in creation of the local culture of Srilanka. Relish a delicious meal at a seaside restaurant. Post lunch you will proceed to Madu Ganga River, an intricate marsh area comprising of small islands including more than 200 species of animals. Continue your tour to the turtle hatchery in Kosgoda. Extinct turtles are taken care over here and even released in the wild once in a while. Close interaction with baby turtles is possible and you will also get a chance to release them in their original habitat. End your full day excursion with a drop back at your hotel.
