Description of the Experience

Triund Trek is one of the most stunning treks in Himachal Pradesh that begins from McLedoganj near Dharamshala. The place is known for its Tibetan culture and is home to Dalai Lama ever since he stayed in India during exile. With spending view of the Dhauladhar range, Tibetan monasteries, vibrant culture, and blankets of snow, this town has all the reasons to let your stress go away. Set on the trek from BhagsuNag Temple and take a hike to the Triund which is an 8 hours trek and gives you a stunning view of the whole region, more exclusively the Dhauladhar range. With your local guide hike to the Triund Hilltop and set forth to the Laka Got Glacier to get a first-hand view of where all the water of the region originates. Return back to Triund for camping and enjoying food while viewing the snow-capped mountains and the vast greenery of deodar trees around. Spend the night viewing the stars in clear blue sky and wake up to a mesmerizing sunrise from the top of the mountain. The trip ends back after descending to the BhagsuNag Temple and back to Mcleodganj.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Mcleodganj to Triund (2875 metres / 9 KM / 4 Hours)
    Report at the Base Camp Mcleodganj Bus Stand before 8:00 AM and start the trek to Triund.
  • It is a beautiful walk through mixed forests of deodar, oak, and rhododendron.
  • In the meanwhile, you can opt for an additional lunch.
  • Triund is situated on a ridge with a beautiful view of whole Kangra valley on one side and the Dhauladhar mountain range on the other.
  • Check into the camps approx 2 kms below triund and have dinner at the camp site (In case of Bad weather or Govt restriction, Day trekking back to Dharamkot to reach the camp site)
  • Overnight stay in your camps.

    Day 2 - Triund to Mcleodganj and Departure (9 KM / 3 Hours)
  • Wake up to a mesmerizing sunrise and check out from camps after breakfast.
  • Start trekking back to the base camp located at Mcleodganj to end your experience of a trek to Triund.
