Description of the Experience
Bodh Gaya, the place where Gautam Sidhartha achieved enlightenment, is an important pilgrimage for Buddhists around the globe. Bodhgaya is one of the most important and sacred Buddhist pilgrimage center in the world.VISHNUPAD TEMPLE, GAYA-This temple was built as a dedication to Lord Vishnu and features a 40 cm long footprint of Lord Vishnu that is enclosed by a basin made of silver plates.This footprint marks the act of Lord Vishnu subduing Gayasur by placing his feet on Gayasur's chest. Within the courtyard, there are other temples situated as well. One is dedicated to Lord Narasimha and another to Lord Shiva in the form of Phalgwisvara. This temple serves as a very significant place of worship for Hindus and is located in Gaya.DUNGESWARI: The place is famous for the caves where Buddha had meditated for some time. It was in these caves that he concluded that the ultimate knowledge can not be attained through mortification of the flesh. These caves are 20 kms from the main town of Bodh Gaya.

- Mahabodhi Temple: Mahabodhi Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the location of the Bodhi tree where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. It is an ancient complex built by Emperor Asoka in 3rd century B.C
- Great Buddha Statue: This statue is about 20 metres tall, Buddha is seated in a Dhyana Mudra position on a lotus
- Wat Thai Temple: Built in the year of 1956 this temple houses a large Buddha Statue
- Indosan Nipponji: A Japanese Buddhist Temple, built in the year 1963
- Tergar Monastery: Majestic Buddhist temple known for its richly ornate, vibrant facade, lofty prayer halls & shrines
- Tibetan Monastery: Tibetan Monastery in Gaya was established in 1938 and is across the road from Mahabodhi Temple. A huge 'Dharmachakra' is housed within the monastery, which is said to free one of all the mortal sins
- After the completion of your tour, you will be dropped back to your hotel/residence in the Patna city limits
