Start your journey after a pickup from your hotel and head to Somnathpur known as a home to the Prasanna Chennakeshava Temple which is one of the best piece of Hoysala architecture.Constructed about 700 years ago on the banks of the Kaveri River, the temple which is built on a high platform like other Hoysala temples is one of its kind. It is a monument of three shrines and three beautifully etched peaks with a common Mandapa. The three sanctums contains beautifully carved idols of Keshava, Janardhana and Venugopala.In its present day, the idol of Lord Kesava is absent but the other two are still revered by the visitors. The Brindavan Gardens are situated along the Krishnarajasagar Dam built on the Kaveri River. Devised by Sir Mirza Ismail, the former Dewan of the princely State of Mysore, these gardens are a fine example of beauty and grandeur with its terrace gardens spreaded out for the world. Designed on the lines of the Shalimar Gardens of Kashmir, the garden has many terraces, fountains, spurting water-channels, plush green lawns, flower beds, shrubs and trees.Later in the evening, the gardens get dazzled with lights, a beautiful view for aesthetic pictures and lovely memories.
