With roots into the history of British Military Garrison, Madras, now known as Chennai is the gateway to south India. Chennai is a major cultural center and marked as the safest city in India. The nestling streets of Chennai sizzle with a high dose of South Indian culture, traditional artwork and religious beliefs. Chennai is home to Fort St George and museum with historical insights into East India Company trading outpost. Kapaleeshwar Temple, Santhome Cathedral, Edward Elliot’s beach, Marina beach, etc along with 600 temples around the suburbs, this city is high on preaching gods.
Chennai is known for its delinquent cuisine including Uttapam, Pongal, Medu Vada, Paddu, Idli, etc. A trip to the city takes you through the South Indian style of living in a modern lifestyle settlement.
Lots of interesting stories shared by the story trail guide about Indian History and Culture. A great way to get an authentic perspective of past and current life in Chennai. We loved the Bharatnatyam dance.
