It is only place where you can find oldest rock-cut sharp carvings and paintings which build in 2nd century B.C. to 6th century A.D. 27 Caves are on Buddhism, the oldest cave is cave no.10, earlier it was first cave no.1 but after declaration as a UNESCO world heritage site cave numbers changed as starting 1 from entrance point to ends at 27. Ellora Caves is also a UNESCO site of India. Caves is representing artwork of three religious Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism from 600-1000 CE period. at the entrance you can see is Cave No.16 know as Kailasha temple dedicated to Lord Shiva of Hinduism, and only cave in the world that made of single rock. Ellora has more than 100 caves but opens only 34 out of 100 to public, from cave 1 to 12 represents Buddhism, Cave 13 to 29 represents Hinduism and Cave 30 to 34 Jainism.
